The Christmas Shoot of 2008 almost didn’t happen. The day of the shoot the weather forecast was for the worst storm in 40 years to hit our area. A snow storm. I fully expected things to be canceled. I really did. I just assummed that I would start getting calls from girls letting me know they weren’t going to make it. There was already significant snow on the ground from a previous storm.
Zed was already present and accounted for. He had a few things to complete before the shoot so he got to The Attic rather early. As we prepared for the day snow continued to fall. I headed out to get a Christmas tree and collect Angel. When I walked into Angel’s place Kit was on the phone letting us know she wasn’t going to make it. Strike one. It wasn’t long after we got back to The Attic that Eva called on me.
But it wasn’t because she bailed on us –she was stuck. Zed and I headed right out to get her. It was an easy save. That left me headed into town to get Elizabeth.
Fortunately, that trip was rather uneventful. But I must say, Elizabeth was a tad bit reculant to make it. Here’s a little excerpt of her and I’s text communique:
Elizabeth: Have you seen the roads? Can the other girls make it?
Me: Yes, only one cancellation.
Elizabeth: I don’t think I can risk getting stuck out there.
Me: We need you!
Elizabeth: Ok, I’ll do it. U got food and supplies?
Me: Yes! Are you sure?
Elizabeth: I can’t believe we’re doing this!
Me: Let’s face it, we may not be able to get you back home tonight.
Elizabeth: We really should reschedule.
Me: That wouldn’t be fair to the girls who are already en route.
Elizabeth: Is it possible to reschedule?
Elizabeth: Ok, let’s do it.
Me: Last chance. You in?
Elizabeth: I don’t even think you can make it here!
Me: Oh, I can make it.
Elizabeth: lMAO. This is fantastic!
Me: See you in a bit!
Elizabeth Zed: Can you pick me up a pack of Marlboro Ultra Lights?
Now the only person left is Elise. And it wasn’t long after I returned with Elizabeth that there was a knock on the door.
Elise arrived. And now we can have our Christmas shoot. Eva is just lovely serving the other girls coffee. Her “Steamer” gag really frothed up the cream nicely.
Of course, we didn’t sit around drinking coffee all day. We had some rail riding to do. The girls drew candycanes that matched the lengths of the dildos on the horse. Elizabeth was unfortunate enough to draw The Big One. Angel was so displeased by this development, and became so insolent, she had to have her neck tied to the horse while the other girls were attended too. But then Eva is back there in the corner enduring her own little taste of rail riding.
Of course, we finally had to end the shoot and figure out what to do about getting everyone home. At least a foot of snow had fallen while the shoot was in progress and it was really coming down hard out there, still. As in blizzard conditions.
Everyone is alive and safe, but the rest of this story is probably best left told another day.
